World’s dumbest questions?

Think you get stupid questions from customers? Try these on for size:

  •  ”Where can I get software for tracking UFOs?”
  • What do I do now? “A skunk ate my cable.”
  • “Can you reset the Internet for me?”

About 1,400 Internet technology pros surveyed by Robert Half Technology offered up the toughest questions ever to hit their help desks.

The challenge for many of these questions isn’t always providing an answer. It’s often more likely to be resisting offering a, “What in the heck are you talking about?” response.

A few other choice requests:

  • “My computer is telling me to press any key to continue. Where is the ‘any’ key?”
  • “Can you install cable TV on my PC?”
  • “My daughter is locked in the bathroom. Can you pick the lock?”
  • “Can you tell me the weather forecast for next year?”
  • “Can you re-arrange the keyboard alphabetically?”

The next time your staffers feel their patience is being tested by questions from customers, you might want to share a few of these with ‘em.
