In this case, a not-so-clever stick-up artist walked into a Chicago bank, intent on leaving with an unauthorized withdrawal.

The robber came equipped with a note: “Be Quick … Give your cash or I’ll shoot.”

The teller complied, handing over $400.

The robber left his note.

Oops. The note was written on half of the man’s pay stub. The other half of the pay stub — with the man’s name and address — was found on the ground outside the bank’s front door.

That’s where the cops found him. The accused robber, who faces up to 20 years in the slammer, was held without bond.

Guess you could say that crime just doesn’t pay.
