Man plants RFID chip in his own hand

You’ve got to hand it to this guy: He’s adding a whole new twist to RFID chips — by injecting one into his own hand.
Of course, it always pays to take some of what you see on the Internet with a grain of salt. Still, this is a pretty convincing display if it’s just a hoax.
The star of this YouTube video shows step-by-step how he prepares, injects and implants an RFID chip — much larger than a grain of salt — into his own hand.
(Perhaps he took ProcurementAlert‘s Oct. 20 posting, “Is someone using RFID to snoop on you?” to its illogical extreme.)
Why would he do something like planting a chip in his own body?
It allows him to silently open his gun safe, with a simple wave of his hand. He figures this quick and quiet access will keep him from tipping off any intruders while he grabs his gun in the dark.
The over-sized syringe is one that’s used for implanting animal tags; the RFID chip was “bought on the Internet.” It appears he attempts to make the procedure sterile.
Want to know more?
He videotaped the process and posted it on YouTube. (Warning: This could be a little tough for squeamish sorts.)
