Attention, British shoppers: There’s a blue light special on Aisle 6, but it’s aimed at your tummy and not your wallet.
One of Britain’s tony department stores has unveiled a new sweet treat. It’s an upscale chocolate bar called “Credit Crunch.”
The tongue-in-sweet-cheek confection is supposed to serve as comfort food for shoppers feeling the strain of tight finances.
“Quality chocolate is the ultimate solution, being relatively inexpensive, instantly satisfying and really helps lift your mood,” said the director of food and restaurants at Selfridge’s, the upscale department store.
The treats are made of Valrhona chocolate and honeycomb pieces.
A 150-gram package (about 5.3 oz.) sells for 3.99 pounds ($7 US, 5 euros).
